Design Workshops & Learning Sessions
We run regular gatherings where designers share what they've learned, discuss real projects, and work through UI/UX challenges together. These aren't formal lectures—just practical sessions focused on getting better at what we do.
Lukas Vestergaard
Workshop Facilitator
I've been running these sessions since early 2023. Started because a few of us wanted to talk through design problems without the usual conference formality. Now we meet monthly and cover everything from interface patterns to user research methods.
My background is in product design—spent seven years at a fintech company before moving to Taiwan. These days I split time between consulting work and organizing these gatherings. The sessions work best when people bring real problems they're facing.
What I like about our format: we keep groups small, usually eight to twelve people. Everyone gets to participate. And we always end with actionable takeaways you can use the next day.
Upcoming Sessions for 2025
Component Systems That Scale
Building design systems that actually get used. We'll look at three company examples—what worked, what didn't, and how to avoid the common pitfalls when your component library grows.
Mobile Interface Patterns
Practical session on designing for smaller screens. We'll examine navigation patterns, touch targets, and how to prioritize content when space is limited. Bring examples from projects you're working on.
User Research Without Big Budgets
How to gather meaningful feedback when you don't have a research team or expensive tools. Methods that work with small sample sizes and limited time. We'll practice a few techniques during the session.
Accessibility in Practice
Beyond meeting compliance standards—designing interfaces that work for people with different abilities. We'll audit a few real websites together and discuss fixes that make actual impact.
Dashboard Design Workshop
Data visualization and information hierarchy for complex interfaces. How to help users find what matters without overwhelming them. We'll redesign a sample dashboard together during the session.
Year-End Design Review
Casual gathering to share what we learned in 2025. Everyone brings one project to discuss—what went well, what you'd change, and lessons for next year. Good way to wrap up before the holidays.
How Our Sessions Work
Each workshop follows a similar structure. We start with a brief overview of the topic, then break into smaller discussion groups. Most of the time is spent working through real examples or case studies.
Sessions happen at our office in Hsinchu's North District, though we've been experimenting with some hybrid formats for people who can't make it in person. Coffee and snacks included—we usually order from the place downstairs.
Attendance is free, but we do ask people to register ahead of time since space is limited. If something comes up and you can't make it, just let us know so we can open your spot to someone else.
Want to Join a Session?
Registration opens about six weeks before each workshop. Send us an email and we'll add you to the notification list. We'll reach out when spots become available.
